Booking.com non-refundable Edinburgh

Anyone need accommodation in Edinburgh from June 9th until the 16th? Accidentally booked wrong dates and they won't refund. I paid €250/£220 for it so if anyone wants it for €100 let me know. Raging right now.

Anyone else ever mess up like this? Was meant to stay there for my sister's wedding and it's not until 20th July. They won't let me switch dates either.

Try Gumtree under short term lets, you'd get the Contracting market more than happily taking that offer.

Pity it wasn't August, it would be snapped up already!

No chance of your sister bringing the wedding forward a month?

    She's selfish if she doesn't

While Booking.com might not offer refunds, have you tried contacting the hotel directly?
Especially if it's the same one as the reception, they'd be more accommodating.

    When did you book it?

Same as this happened to me a few years ago. Booking.com would do nothing for me (I guess you do pay a little less for non refundable) but hotel in Dublin changed the date no problem. Can't remember but I may have paid a small bit extra for the new date. Try the hotel for sure.

Booking.com contacted the hotel. My sister's reception isn't there but pretty much the whole family are staying.

I booked in March and have no clue how those dates came about. It's not even the right dates wrong month.

I had asked to change the dates and they won't. Am already paying about €1000 in flights from India for the wedding and can't afford to pay twice for the accommodation.

Hotel should change the dates if they have availability. I would try ringing back to get talking to somebody else. If they have availability it really is no skin off their nose.

I have done this a load of times and never had an issue when dealing with the hotel directly.

Rang them and they are changing the dates! Yay! Panic over.

I clicked on this thread, and then clicked out and ten minutes later I was emailed a €20 Booking.com voucher by PayPal.

    What's wrong with it?

    What's wrong with it?
Overcrowded , bad weather , dour.

I just don't get this mythological status it holds.

The people are aloof. And past the small area around the old town its just a not great suburban area.

Very few green spaces/parks that I could find. Or it was too much of a trek to get to. But someone told me that is most of the Uk there are nice places but you spend ages in getting there. So perhaps its just in Ireland we are used to being somewhere green in no time.

Terrible public transport. I mean REALLY exhausting. Although i was only there a few days.

Also you have to allow for my personal taste what is for some is not for others.

If you are from there yourself no doubt others like it.

Jaysus Edinburgh is a fantastic city. Easily one my favorites.

But sure if we were all the same it would be a boring world
