Being told to terminate employment

I was told to terminate the employment within 2 weeks (with ex-gratia payment), but i chose to leave immediately.

Q1: When would be my actual last date, the date of notification or the date after two weeks?

Q2: If i am hired again by a new employer, will he/she be able to find when my employment terminate, or even i was told to let go, under the new PAYE modernization?
I started to look for a new job now, but was suggested by some kind friends, do not tell the new employer that I am jobless because that will cause my job hunting more difficult...

This is a tough situation for me...thanks a mill...

    Hi Hope,

Q1) Termination date is the date that your notice period expired.
    http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/eli/1973/act/4/section/7/enacted/en/html#sec7
7.—(1) Nothing in this Act shall operate to prevent an employee or an employer from waiving his right to notice on any occasion or from accepting payment in lieu of notice.

    (2) In any case where an employee accepts payment in lieu of notice, the date of termination of that person's employment shall, for the purposes of the Act of 1967, be deemed to be the date on which notice, if given, would have expired.

Q2) Future employers are not disclosed the date of cessation of previous employments via the PAYE system, only the total PAYE tax position YTD.

    Hope this helps.
