I have no idea what forum to put this question in so bear with me MOD.

I'm trying to establish what the family connection EG cousin etc is here.

X's grand uncle was married to Y's aunt.
What is the relation ship between X & Y ?

They could be friends, brothers, sisters, a married couple, a parent and child.

There is no way to determine the type of ‘relation’ if any based on those inputs.

You've already said what the relationship is. They are not cousins as there is no direct relationship through their parents. X's grand uncle was a brother in law to one of Y's parents. That's all, x and y are simply 'related through marriage'.

If X's grand uncle and Y's aunt were siblings then x and y would be 1st cousins once removed.

From reading the above, there would be no relationship between x and y. The only common thing is that the children of grand-uncle and aunt would be full cousins to Y and 2nd cousins to x.

Not enough of a relation to concern yourself with. Drop the hand.

No relation / not enough info. X and Y could be completely seperate people.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Not 2nd cousins..1st cousins once removed as theres a generation gap. Your children and your cousins children would be 2nd cousins to each other. Your grandkids and your cousins grandkids would be 3rd cousins to each other ..and so on.
