MAF cleaning

Does anyone on here clean their MAF at the regular service intervals?

I've been reading up about hunting and it seems that cleaning the MAF can have a positive effect (my car does not have a EGR nor DPF).
The one thing is the MAF is quite sensitive and there is a special aerosol for this purpose which dries off without leaving a residue.

Anyone doe this or have any feedback on having previously tried it?

I do along with every 2-3 air filter change. Using electrical contact cleaner spray.

Have you noticed it making any difference?

Also, what is the difference between MAF cleaner and electrical contact cleaner?

Use the recommended spray (MAF cleaner), it's purer and better for this stuff.

Do clean your MAF, it's a good thing.
    See if it helps you.

I felt difference after done first time.
If you do it at regular intervals, you might not notice much - car just perform as intended. If you not done it ever you'll see.

Suppose you could apply same logic as "engine oil for engine, gearbox oil for gearbox".
I can't comment on chemical composition of either of cleaners, but i choose it as i have it. Price is factor too.

Grand - mine has not been cleaned in over 10 years. So hopefully that will resolve the problem.

where can you get MAF cleaner spray, have checked a few different motor factors and they didn't know what I was talking about. Was previously considering electrical contact cleaner but read somewhere it can cause issues and a new MAF is expensive to replace.
I've a petrol Volvo and the MAF is a known issue and causes the car to hunt occasionally especially after being stuck in traffic for a couple of hours. Every so often it'll register as a fault code so was considering getting a reconditioned MAF and then try cleaning the existing one.

Haven't bothered cleaning a maf in years, i always found that when i cleaned one the effects were short lived and it ulitmately needed replacing.

That is exact problem in this country, and i don't know why - any motor factors i asked, all suggest either carb cleaner or electrical contact cleaner.

MAF cleaner available to order online, but its $$$.

Even this expensive options is not available, I've tried to order it, but Amazon refused to ship it either to Ireland or via Parcel Motel. I believe, they cannot ship aerosols.

Cleaning MAF, will enhance fuel economy, and keep it in good state. The item is around 300 Euros, spending couple of coffee cups on cleaning would not an issue :).

Not all sellers would deliver to ROI or even NIR.

    Try different seller/brand

I'm now not sure that the MAF was the problem.

I've now got 10K BOOST Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner, but at the time cleaned it with electrical contact cleaner. No discernable difference that could not be put down to placebo effect.
