I think cowboy will rock ferguson at some stage and I'm glad its a three rounder for his sake.
I think he'll have one chance to get ferguson outa there like pettis had....ferguson recovers its probably game over.
Three rounds of mayhem should it last that long imo.

If ferguson goes after cowboy from the start like masvidal did then it might not end well for cowboy but unlike masvidal who has a granite chin, ferguson has been rocked a few times.

    Eye by KO/TKO
Cowboy v Tony is gonna be a cracker, people's main event no doubt. Some good scraps on that card.

    Shevchenko by Sub
what a cracker of a main card, didn't even realise yan v rivera was on it

can't see past Moraes myself, stacked division but I think moraes is the best out there right now with Yan close behind and I would be very surprised if henry can deal with his power and his overall game is top notch anyway.

I believe he's gonna blow everyone away with this performance.

Shevchenko will have eye looking like something from the end of rocky after a couple of rounds, piss poor division when eye gets a shot after 3 wins where two were split wins against fighters who probably aren't top class.
Shev probably the second best fighter in the ufc and it'll probably show here in a bit way.

I like karolina but I think she's there for the taking, very poor performance and waterson last time out, hasn't looked the same fighter lately similiar to Gadelha.

Lamas Kattar will imo be swinging for the fences at some stage, expecting a battle of the chins.

Yan has looked incredible lately, fancy him to beat rivera and will be fighting the champ Moraes for his belt at the end of the year :D

Tatiana suarez is probably one fight away from a shot also and she should beat ansaroff

bam bam was going great against jds last time out, he'll learn form that but ivanov is a very hard man to put away.

I hope the other yan beats angela hill also and will be shouting for joanne calderwood even though I think she might come out second best.

    sterling munhoz....not a clue

Im in NYC for this and wondering has anyone got recommendations for particular bars to watch it in? (good atmosphere and beer being a perk). I see that there is a bunch of them showing it.

Playwright on 35th is a good spot for the fights. Watched Jones v DC 2 there and the place was hopping

Damn, poll closed early! Can't freakin wait for this, hoping Marlon wrecks Henry , but of course getting to see Tony back in action is the magnet magic , yeeeehaw :-)

Petr Yan brings some violence the Elbows. Oh God the Elbows.

    Ferguson by KO TKO

    Valentina by KO or TKO

Marlon to win is my guess.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,149 ✭✭✭mangobob

Wow. Incredible last minute in that fight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,149 ✭✭✭mangobob

Well that was a barn burner :/

Stewart wins but thank God thats over..

    Valentina by KO or TKO
Tough fight, think.it could go.the distance.
    Ferguson by KO TKO
I agree, might be over very quickly. Obviously Cowboy has power at lightweight but the only chance he has here imo is any chance Tony gives him.
Marlon to win is my guess.
Marlon is a class act, can end it standing up or on the ground. I've never really been amazed by Cejudo, looks ordinary enough but he keeps on winning and beating Demetrius Johnson forced me to respect him. This one could be over very quickly if Cejudo decides to go for it early because I think Moraes will take him out. If Cejudo can get through the first two rounds then the tables turn a bit because the only question over Moraes is stamina. We know Cejudo can go all the way at a very good level.
I'll pick Moraes for the early ko.

Katar has some pair of hands on him. Love that short fake jab to set it up.

    On the button. Nice job.

Grasso is so much faster here, looks a clear level above Karolina, who hasn’t looked the same fighter since Andrade knocked her out.

    Karolina getting outclassed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,149 ✭✭✭mangobob

KK needs a knockout here somehow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,532 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Really want to see Grasso vs. Rose after that performance, it’d be a cracking fight to watch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,149 ✭✭✭mangobob

Thats a 3 fight losing streak now for Karolina, and she has lost 5 of her last 7. She needs a win in her next fight or she could be staring into the abyss.

    Or even worse, Invicta. :pac:

Another legendary walkout from Tuivasa. :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,149 ✭✭✭mangobob

    Tuivasa looks absolutely shagged.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,149 ✭✭✭mangobob

I think TT could easily have lost this...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,447 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

How did two judges call 30-27 in the last fight. I've no complaint with the result but Tuivasa won the second round clearly.

    Agreed.

Great first round, hard to say who’ll win it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,149 ✭✭✭mangobob

Surely that merits a point deduction or something? Blatant hit after the bell

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,532 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Unfortunate way to end it, but Tony’s late punch didn’t cause that so it should be a TKO win for him. Never, ever blow your nose if it’s broken, been watching this sport long enough to know that. It must be very hard not to though, to be fair.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,149 ✭✭✭mangobob

Real anticlimax of an ending, but Tony was absolutely piecing him up. The right result but the way it finished left a bad taste.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,588 ✭✭✭derfderf

Who's the poster on here that hates Cowboy? I don't get it. Fights constantly, generally exciting fights, and always seems like a gent.

^I think that's because of an alleged story of him being a dick.

Ref should have taken a point from ferguson. Why are refs so reluctant to do this!

Ferguson was rightly awarded the fight though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,532 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Skill gap is pretty massive here, as expected. Had Valentina taking this on points, but I think she’ll get the submission within the next two rounds.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,532 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

    Jeeeeeeeesus. That was absolutely brutal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,149 ✭✭✭mangobob

    OMFG

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,532 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Great to see Eye back on her feet already, that was easily one of the most sickening KOs I’ve seen in women’s MMA.

Love Bullet, the woman is an assassin and imo should be 135 champ too as I had her beating Nunes.

Not too sure about that celebration though...I know its her national dancing style but, well, its almost like CMG or Joe duffy broke out in a little session of Riverdance after winning their fight. Morto.

7/9 and not one bet did I do, disaster.

Great card overall imo. Big anti climax on the people's main event though

Fantastic performance from Henry, made serious adjustments from the first round and on a bad leg to get the W. Has to be top 3 pound-for-pound after that.

Not for long though, he’s defending the cringe title against Chris Weidman’s auld fella in Vegas this December.

Moraes I though lost his cool in that fight after he got tagged by Cejudo early in.the second round. He started taking him on at close range which was really stupid. In the first round he stayed out, used his feet very well and set up some good combos. He won the first round easily. I thought to myself that another round and a half of that and he'd have his way with Cejudo.
It was very foolish to get involved in clinches with Cejudo and he paid the price.
Real pity how the real main event, Tony vs Cowboy, went down. I do.think that it was a good thing for Cowboy though because he wasn't going to be able to see out of his right eye in the final round.
Last word for Shevchenko, that girl might end up a movie star. That kick was just evil. The power, the technique and how she set it up with the three earlier kicks to the body. Without doubt the most dominant female in mma.
That shocking kick is the stuff of legends. It gives her huge street cred and I can see movie producers fawning all over her now.

Watching it last night I thought Valentina didn't fill contact with Jessica but on watching this morning and playing with rewind and stuff can see it. Woman is a beast seriously

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,836 ✭✭✭Brussels Sprout

I know that the fight got stopped because Cowboy couldn't see out of his eye - which in turn was caused by him blowing his broken nose but was it Ferguson's late punch that broke the nose? What I'm getting at is, was the fight indirectly caused by the punch after the buzzer? Really crapy way to end - especially since Ferguson was likely to win regardless.
