Is my marble fireplace secure enough?

Had a marble fireplace fitted a number of months back and the fitter used caulk to fill in the bracket holes instead of proper filler, why do tradesmen do this as its not possible to sand caulk to match the wall surface.

In order to sand to match the wall surface before its repainted, I've dug out the caulk and can not see that a some of the brackets do not appear to be holding the mantel in place.

The bottom left one wiggles when you touch it and attached are the two top brackets. One you can see is not attached by the resin instead it's joined by some caulk, and while the other side isn't very clear it did look like some cracks where there and some caulk was possible holding the resin together.

This mantel didn't come with brackets attached, the fitter had to apply some resin/epoxy to hold them in place.

Should I be concerned about how tightly the mantel is attached to the wall, is this something I need to get someone in to refit, or is the caulk on the brackets and used between the mantel and wall sufficient to hold it all in place?

Just tested, I can wiggle the top right one slightly as well with a touch of my finger
