I want to return to college but I can't afford it

Long story short - I'm 21, I studied 2 years of a business degree and subsequently dropped out.

I want to return to college to study medicine, to do so I'll be repeating my Leaving Cert.

I can't afford college.. let alone the fees for medicine which are roughly €10,000 a year, for the first 2 years, and I'm guessing for the last 1-2 (5-6 year course).

Could I qualify for a BTEA if I was to get in studying medicine?
I could sit the Leaving, and then apply for BTEA and work on my HPAT for the year.

I know it's a long shot but short of waiting 5 years for free fees (if I was granted them) I don't know how I can afford returning to education.

    Are you on jobseekers?
You would only qualify for BTEA if youve been on a qualifying social welfare payment for 9 months

What happens in November? Scotland will most likely be outside the EU by then.

I have been told by SUSI that despite the fact that I am 30 years old, because I live with my father I have to provide documentation to state his income etc. which means I am never going to qualify for that grant, even though his financials have nothing to do with me his grown daughter. does anyone have any experience with this?
