Anyone clarify if fees are paid in 2017/2018 (academic year) in instalments is it to late to claim them for 2017/2018 tax year or can you wait until end of 2019 year to claim.

You have up to 4 years from the year paid to claim the relief.

Thanks was thinking this. Is it a cash refund or just added to your PAYE credits?

If you are due a refund of tax for a relief from a prior tax year it will be refunded to your bank account details on file.
