Three months with Vodafone and no issues

I switched from Virgin to Vodafone a few months back and I couldn't be happier with the transition.

Dropped from 120mb to 100mb and barely notice the difference. Maybe it's just my imagination but I think it's actually faster in some respects. I'm finding Netflix and Youtube more responsive, but like I say could just be the halo effect :)

Transition was seamless. The guy from KN that came to do the installation was sound, and I haven't a single issue. Not one.

I was with UPC and then Virgin for many years. In fact it was my third contract with them and I have to say they were pretty horrible to deal with all the time but I put up with them because they had the best internet, or so I thought.

My internet is very important to me so I wasn't going to take any chances. Most other internet companies are the same anyway so why move? Writing this now it seems like I'm describing an abusive relationship.

I was holding out for FTTH before I could countenance a move, but they just peed me off one two many times and so I settled on Vodafone on a value-for-money basis and made the switch.

I feel this has to be said, because when I was researching who I could possibly switch to, it's very hard to get objective information beyond mere price comparisons, and you get lots of rants about every single one of the ISPs, and very few positive stories.

I suppose, the moral of the story is that what qualifies as "basic" broadband nowadays is actually pretty good, and good enough for most things. I'd still be tempted by FTTH or Siro, but for now I'm quite happy with the extra few quid in my pocket and being rid of some bad vibes from my life.

It's a very good point. I have relatives who have a good price on FTTC and would see no benefit for ftth except on paper.
You'd want to be doing some serious usage to notice an actual difference I would think.
