    anyone try the rods out of lidl, cost a fiver a pack any good ?

    I think the Lidl ones are all 2.5mm, most farming jobs warrent a 3.2.
    Been using Electro Arc brand rods lately, made in Hungary or Greece or somewhere in south eastern Europe, and find then perfectly good. Cheaper than Oerlikon as well.

    I used the Lidl 2.5mm ones and thought they were good, but when I used the 3.2mm Hyundia ones from the local COOP, I found them a lot better.

    I use hilco red extra all the time. 5kg box is about €23 as far as I remember in my local steel yard. Great rods.
    The oerlikon 2.5kg box is €19 in my local coop.

    some of the lidl stuff is good and some very bad
