Noted that the discount rate for coach travellers in the car park has gone from 7 euro to 12 euro per day. I wonder what the justification was ? Hardly encourages use of public transport, and no, bus to the coach station is not an option early morning or late night as they simply don't run.

I learned this the hard way last week as well and won't be using it anymore. The car park never really seemed to be too busy whenever I used it, maybe they are not making enough on it and the price hike is supposed to increase revenue?

Who was subsiding it? The Bus Companies or the Car Park operators?

Why would they need a justification? It's a private car park to a station used by private bus companies. Surely they can charge whatever they want?

That's the one. Have contacted the coach station itself enquiring about the price increase. If I hear back, I'll post here.
In the interim, for those seeking something more reasonable, the Apcoa Ceannt station car park is listed as being 6.50 per day. I'll be trying that, rather than put up with a 70 percent price increase.

What car park are you referring to? The train station one?

Although convenient I will definitely not be using that car park again. A short walk to the Cathedral car park, Dyke Road or Salthill where it seems to be free is no problem rather than putting up with this astronomical increase

Why not just drive to Dublin, faster, more comfortable and more convenient.

Why not just drive to Dublin, faster, more comfortable and more convenient.

    For me:

    1.) Traffic
2.) Can work on the bus or train, can't while driving so it's 2.5-3 hours wasted.
3.) Once in Dublin, more than likely to use the LUAS or a bus anyway. Car will just sit there.
4.) If driving alone, it's a waste a complete waste of money to drive and park there. Also, it's not very environmentally friendly.

Totally agree with all of the above!
