Shower diverter came off - how to fix?

    Hi,

So somehow after my bf had his shower this morning, the shower diverter knob was resting gently on top of the screw it should be attached to.

I've been looking online but any guides I find seem to be very American. Does anyone know of a guide (ideally with pictures) for reattaching it?

Thanks, I'll try to add pictures now.

It should just screw back on to the thread sticking up from the mixer taps.

Hi, I had tried that but unfortunately it won't twist because it's not circular... is there just some sort of knack to it?

Going by your pics it looks circular, Am I missing something?

We have those type of mixers in work and they regularly unscrew off the mixer tap.

Get a scissors and pull the rod up with it catching it either side.

Then screw the top back on. Once it's screwed on release the scissors

Thats a sure way to knacker the threads. It should just pull up by hand with a bit of effort.

You'd struggle to get fingers around that.

And you'd want to be sound something mad to kill threads on that so quickly
