Would you be in a position to claim vat either way?

Trend is worth more, LWB is worth more, low mileage is worth more.
It’s not outrageous but you’d surely get one cheaper in the uk.

I assume it’s the 1.6 and not the newer 1.5?

Well he said the lowest he would settle for is 8600 . I have looked at alot of UK Van's done motor checks and they have been damaged and repaired also very high milage on alot of them . Not it's the 1.6tdci 95ps . Do you know if there reliable ? This van is pretty clean was never used for trade work only used by a greyhound racer just bringing his dogs to track

I’ve got a thing about the PSA 1.6 engine of any vintage. I’m not convinced they’re that good but the newer versions certainly aren’t as bad.

FWIW the company I work fir has put 300 hard ks each on a few work vans with the 1.5 engine without major incident.

That's alot of kms the van I'm looking at is a fraction of kms compared to that lol I was looking at citroen berlingos also but very hard to find a decent one wit low milage that isn't abused alot of them have cement and all sorts stuck in the back of them . I never had a Ford car/van before so I don't know about the reliability i had a berlingo myself a while back i know there reliable. But i cant find one anywhere there also cheaper than the connects but the connects are far more expensive you can see why streight away they just look like quality from outside to in compared to the berlingo and partner

The Berlingo has the same basic engine as the Connect you’re looking at AFAIK.

Ya they all pretty much share the same engines these days all the cars and Van's have all the same engines . I just done know if it's worth the 8600 its mint with low kms service history but don't know what they go for private. I know that dealers sell them for about 10k to 11k but that's with the vat

I think the price is OK given that you wouldn’t be able to claim the VAT, it’s low mileage, higher spec and LWB, and they’re rare enough in that configuration.

Re the engines, Ford used PSA engines for years but they developed their own 1.5 engine to replace the 1.6 PSA engine.

Ya I never really see the lwb about the extra bit of room in the rear would be beneficial if carrying alot of stuff i wouldn't be carrying alot but I cant find any decent ones on there with low mileage only from dealers are they way more expensive. Yes there was someone told me that private Van's are worth more money I domt know if its true but they said there worth more because theres not vat to be claimed so your getting all what you paid for back and you dont have to pay any vat I dont know what way it works or if it's true or not . Would the 1.6 be more reliable since it's been around longer the new 1.5 has not been around long enough to be tested properly would it ?

I can get a 151 berlingo for same price but theres vat on it its 7k without the vat but I'm not vat registered so I will be paying the whole amount when I sell it in near future then I will be loosening money wont I

You’re buying the Berlingo for €8600. The VAT is a red herring as you can’t claim it.
It’s unlikely a business will buy the van off you down the road so you won’t be at any real disadvantage.
