I'm in the market looking for the most economical small van, looking at 2010 onwards, van needs to be kangoo, partner, doblo size at least and be reliable and very fuel efficient, mpg is a big thing for me as I do over 1000 miles a week, don't care about looks or what badge it has, any suggestions and I'm looking for anybody with real world experience all makes considered, thanks

A mate of mine has had 2 Fiorinos and a Doblo and swears by them and gets mental fuel economy.

I think he told me before that the Fiorino was doing about 4 litres per 100kms!
He is currently using a 2012 Fiesta diesel van and is also full of praise for it, especially road noise or lack of it and fuel economy

When I was buying I was warned to stay away from 1.6 hdi engine , regardless where it's sitting by mechanic friends.

I bought a fiorino as I didn't need the full sized van,50 quid does me 600 Kms easy

I have been advised to stay away from them aswell, looking more than likely that the fiat doblo is going to be my best option, one thing though your mpg on the fiorino is only working out at about 45mpg I would have thought that 1.3 diesel would be more econimical than that

Driving style pays the largest portion of mpg bill

But a Fiorino is way smaller than a kangoo/doblo/partner

I suppose a VW Caddy would be the best of the bunch, certainly in terms of longevity.

Yea smaller, mine is auto aswell ,**** box but I knew that . I do 100km daily minimum in mine , actually I filled her coming home today for 45 euro from not quite red line, and won't need to fill till this day next week, so I was a bit harsh ,700km for that, with small bit of change, average about 70-80 kph I'd say, very little town driving.
