    Hi,

Coolant warning sign has appeared on dashboard. Just got car serviced yesterday, so obviously I need to bring it back to mechanic. In the meantime, can the car be driven for any length of time? I had planned to drive 2hrs hrs today.

Check the coolant level, is there coolant in the car? Was it replaced during the service or was it simply an oil change?

If there is coolant in the system there may be an airlock or the sensor for coolant is faulty.
Its a critical system, overheating will cause major damage so if in doubt get it checked properly.

    Not recommended.
The consequences of a low coolant level can include overheating and the destruction of your engine.

Top it up, might not take much, if you've no matching colour just use water. Have a look for the leak, start at where you you top it up and follow the hoses from it.
