Still waiting nearly 10 days after I presented vehicle. Does anyone here have recent experience of how long it takes? And how do they contact you, post I presume?

It has been known to take over 2 weeks, even for seemingly common vehicles. Family member waiting that long for a valuation on 2018 Volvo V60 in March.

They call you when the valuation is ready, tell you the amount, and then you must go to your NCT centre to pay it.

Presented on April 5th and got the figure on May 7th. Not a run of mill car but not rare either. Pleasantly surprised by the figure.
I got a txt msg. Can’t remember if they also posted. Quite straightforward.

Did they fine you for being longer than 30 days?!

No, and I think they'd have been quite in the wrong. I presented it within 30 days of coming into the state and was ready to pay there and then. If they take a month to give me the figure, I reckon that's there problem.
There was no issue with it anyway. The whole process was quite straightforward.

The only unusual thing was when I presented the car and was asked to fire up the engine. Do they want to know if it works or not?
