Yep I needed to get close enough to use rivers of blood and get that first bit of blood loss. If they retaliated after the blood loas i could usually attack through it without getting staggered. Not pretty but effective.

I switched to bloodhound fang when doing that section and that was able to stagger them a lot easier than the RoB.

I finally beat Radahn in the DLC on Saturday eve, although I used two human summons with my very last Furcalling Finger Remedy. I rotted him with Ekzykes Decay on his first phase while the summoned guys kept him busy. In the second phase I rotted him again and bled him out with Swarm of Flies while using a sacred golden great shield and lots of running, rolling and healing to stay alive. I was really lucky with the two summoned guys as they were really good and both survived to the end. I never ever want to go through that boss battle ever again.

My 2nd favourite weapon in the entire game. Crazy it’s a starter weapon

New balance patch incoming. Doesn't do a whole lot other than adjustments. Pretty much all spirit ashes now won't stagger as easily, impenetrable thorns nerfed so it won't do as much crazy damage, other typical weapon/spell adjustments etc.

Biggest highlight seems to be that if Torrent gets injured and you have to re-summon him, the default option when asking if you want to use a flask to summon Torrent will now be on OK instead of No to make it easier to do during combat.

The problem with that is I’m so used to the awkward way of summoning Torrent I’d have to relearn it, and muscle memory would likely mean I’d just end up saying no now by mistake!

They should just get rid of that question entirely and summon him if there’s a flask available. Just have it mentioned the first time you summon him that way or have it explained in the tutorial area.

**** you From, I'm still calling my victory legit!

Scadutree Avatar, an overgrown sunflower is giving me more trouble than the DLC's poster boy, Messmer, did.

The fire from the Cranial Vessel Candlestand ash of war utterly destroyed that stupid sunflower. I had difficulties with it at first because it has massive hitboxes.

That's pain in the ass because of how hard he hits and the insane AOE in the final phase but wasn't too bad as if you can hit him in the flower you can do massive damage, especially with bleed.

Cleared this recently and enjoyed it. Not sure it deserves all the hype it received but it was a nice addition. Will give it a rest for a while and do a Ng+ run with a respeced character. Bloodhound fang and fingerprint shield was a bit too easy!

Can someone tell me why Rivers of Blood feels so underpowered. I have it at +8 and it does very little damage compared to a comparable +23 Nagakiba. Am I missing something?

The weapon art is what you should be using. It has acres of range and builds bleed like crazy.

DLC is good but it does feel like there is quite a bit of padding in it. The Finger Ruins are basically pointless and forcing you to traverse the Abyssal Woods on foot, when it's largely full of nothing, was frustrating. Not much going on in Jagged Peak either although "CURSE YOU, BAYLE!" somewhat makes up for it.

Shaman village is one of the most beautiful settings in all of Soulsborne though.

Radahn is just horseshít. No time to attack, no time to heal, massive AOE, teleportation all over, blah blah blah.

I've taken to summoning in other players in the hope that one is some level 999 nonsense build who can solo him.

There's some broken builds that you can try if it's trouble.

    That's what I just did.

Respecced so I could use the Verdigris set. Upgraded the Verdigris shield to +10. Great jar, bull goat, two-headed turtle and viridian +3 talismans. Greenburst and greenspill crystal tears. Antspur rapier +10.

Stood there for 5 minutes and poked him to death from behind the shield with zero effort on my first attempt. I feel no shame. Give me a bullshít boss and I will find a bullshít solution!

All is fair in love and cheesing the final boss of Shadow of the Erdtree.

For this boss I bumped Vigor and Endurance up to 99. I had the Verdigis aromor, Mogh's spear and fingerprint shield and was still at medium load :)
