    Hi, can I import a car from Uk as a work project and only declare it for vrt say in 6 months time?

    No VRT must be sorted within 30 days of it entering the state.

    Is the car a mechanically propelled vehicle capable of being driven, ie self-propulsion. If it cannot physically achieve propulsion then it cannot be rested and VRT applies only when it is repaired.

    Of course you can, but you'll be penalised. Legally has to be registered within 30 days.

    I think it's 0.1% of the VRT amount for every day over the initial 30 days of entering the country.
