Hey guys, I'm in the market for an Audi A6 and I went and viewed one yesterday but it had these brown patches behind each front wheel and bottom of wing and door. It was a rectangular patch like film vinyl type material what is this for? It seems to be on all A6's

Soulds like stone chip protection. They can tend to get grubby over time.

Weird place to have it really I'd be more worried about stone chips on Front bumper and Bonnet. I'm after a White one aswell and the patches turn brown faded colour. Very annoying.

Brown bits are because the car hasn't been properly cleaned.

Rest of the car looks mint in the photos it's in a dealers showroom. I looked at a White Audi yesterday and it had the same thing car was clean but that patch was brown/yellowish blotchy.

It's stone chip protection and to be honest I've not seen an issue with it ever but I've also never had a white car.

Wonder did someone use some acidic cleaner and maybe damage to it or it really needs a good clean.

It is only noticeable on the white ones I think.

They come from factory with this - had it on my previous A6, have it on current A7 too. Those cars don't have mud flaps and this is to protect against damage from stones/grit coming from wide tyres.
Cleaning with detailing clay should provide good results.

Ok cool thanks. I don't own one yet but am in the search for a white A6 with low mileage which is proving to be very difficult down south.

Ia m on my 3rd white Audi, two of them A6 and never had that problem, i do keep them clean on a weekly basis. a good rub with resin polish should clear it.
