My friend is a tradesman and was telling me about the multiple times older ladies had tried it on with him on the job.

Once he had been called to a separation/dispute where the wife (in her late 50s) wanted a job done changed. He did it and left. His company received a call later, she had requested him by name to go back and do another job. When he went back, she was wearing a see-through negligee and drinking wine. She sat beside him while he worked and started asking him if he had a gf and telling him he was good looking, etc. He finished the job and legged it.

Another had tickled his builders' crack when he was bending over to do something (my favourite story) and told him he was gorgeous. She was in her late 60s. Another in her mid 50s had closed the door of the room he was working in after him. She started offering him a drink while trying to hug him. Her adult kids were in the next room, cheering her on when she closed the door. He said he knew another tradesman who had left his tools in a place, gone to his van and came back to find a pair of panties lying on his stuff.

I don't really think what the women were doing was all that bad (what is the right way to tell someone you want to sleep with them?), I mostly just feel sorry for them. Must be tough being lonely as you get older. He said that if the tables were turned, he would probably end up in jail.

It just made me wonder whether we are more uptight around sexual tension and inevitable misfires than we should be? Certainly I've done stupid things in the attempt. Also he wasn't scarred by any of it, though maybe its easy to say that as a man. I work in a corporate office and sexual interaction is fairly prohibited. Any flirting is instantly the talk of the office which stifles it completely, or until the Christmas party.

Interested to know peoples' thoughts.

No adult child would cheer on their mother preying on a man who is probably around their age, never mind from the next room.

I know the guy 20 years and he's no braggard. Maybe I mistook what he was saying, but I don't think so. From what he told me, she liked a drink and if her kids thought she was a woman of 'loose morals' they probably knew she would try to flirt with him.

Happened me in cardiff. Meet a gang of women in club...the daughters were cheering on as I left with their mam. Daughters about 19/20 mother said she was 40.
Fun was had.

Friend of mine is often on hols with his son (42/22) and they go to clubs chatting up women.

Dunno why it hard to believe kids and parents can be proper friends as adults.

I have not been so lucky! That said I do recall one incident back when I was nipper working for the council and filling a hole where a pipe went through the kitchen wall. The woman who was the lady of the house was chatting away while conspicuously learning forward on/over the ironing board with her cleavage there to be seen. I played a straight bat and got on with the job.

Yeah, fair enough, I would have doubts if a stranger said it to me.

The details of the stories are less important to me as the overall issue. As you get older you still have desires and it's probably harder to find someone. Also, I don't think casual encounters are a terrible thing and maybe society would be a little better off if they were more common, although they involve making significant leaps of faith.

Few years ago at a club I’m in one of the members in her late sixties or early seventies was coming on to two guys in their early forties. Married wealthy woman the two guys were clearly embarrassed.Was kind of shocked myself but obviously she wanted some attention. Husband is a lot older than her.So it does happen.
