Little background he was born in Israel. Served in the israeli army..then went into banking and moved to Ireland in the 90s. He still lives here with his wife.

A rare man of integrity around that time.

He resigned and reported what was going on to the law way before the crash long enough to do something.

    He was ignored.

Joan Bruton was exceptionally rude to him.

He gave up his job rather than break the law.

He has some really interesting insights into the financial situation.

Despite his working in Irish banking and world banking for years and his inside knowledge and wish to tell the truth about how he reported it all only Vincent Browne seemed to interview him here.

Whistle bowing is a very dangerous job, has anyone ever prospered or at least broke even doing it? Despite the fact that society desperately needs it to happen, it shows very little care for those that do it. After the initial praise they're left without a job in their industry, treated like a snitch, and that's even assuming they got praise in the first place and weren't accused of some criminality themselves

Did Moany Joan really refer to him as "that Jew"? If that can be corroborated, what a scut she was. I despair at the class of our political 'elite' sometimes.

Poor Jonathon was under the misapprehension that the institutions of the state and our culture generally rewards people of integrity. They should issue a booklet along with foreigners work permits, perhaps titled "Cute-hoorism: A Primer". Perhaps give them a heads up what they're in for.

Looked into that one time. He no doubt has integrity but didn't do anything all that profound.

He worked at Unicredit, an Italian bank that has very minor operations in Ireland, and no Irish customers and in no way systemic to the state i.e. it could collapse and wouldn't cause a blip.

It was exceeding or not meeting some overnight capital requirements, or had too much exposure somewhere or something , and he rightfully reported it to dame street who did nothing as the regulator at that time tended to do, Ireland being a light touch regulation country.

We know the regulator was awful then, we know it was the collapse of systemic banks that screwed us for years (yes, Anglo shouldn't have been considered systemic), and now we hope the regulator is better and try to take some comfort that all systemic banks are supervised centrally from the ECB.

Fair play to him and all but he hardly deserves a peace prize for doing his job and he has no knowledge or nothing to say about the "as is"

One one hand, it's good to see a Jew who is willing to tell the truth at a cost to himself. Maybe we can include him with David Cole, Gerard Menuhin, et al.

One the other hand, this thread is a typical example of Jewish tribalism, with one Jew (the OP) eulogising for another.

Not that threre's anything wrong with tribalism. We Gentiles would do with more of it.
