Failed, change of scenery to new centre?

To be short, failed in Raheny for a second time. Got closer than the first test in which I really wasn’t ready but still made some silly mistakes and my head was gone afterwards and was lucky to avoid any grade 3s. Tbh, I was surprised I was within 3 marks of passing.

When I’d my first test I lived near the area so it was familiar but between tests I’ve moved. I was brought on a route which was unfamiliar to me at rush hour and it spooked me a little bit I think. Would anyone recommend a change of scenery to another centre (Finglas; which is nearer to me now too) than try for a 3rd time in Raheny?

I’ve done lessons and pretests in between which have gone hugely better than the actual test but I just feel like I made basic concentration mistakes in the test and hoping a fresh approach would benefit me.

Where have you done/are currently doing your pretests and lessons, in Raheny or Finglas?

To be fair every instructor has their own route, so changing from Raheny to Finglas isn't hugely beneficial in that regard, as you could be brought on a route you were never on before in Finglas.

However if theres a chance that in Finglas you may be brought on more familiar roads and in return that would be less stressful for you then make the change, it's closer to you anyways so would be less travel time to the center.

What do you mean by “every instructor has their own route?”

    Sorry meant driving tester.

After speaking with friends and family, none of us ever took the same route as each other during out tests.
Some were similar but never exact.

Tbh testers use most routes available to them. Some will favour some over others but it will also depend on the time of day where someone could be brought to avoid potential delays. Navan for example has over a dozen routes.

The route also depends on where the car is parked.

I've failed in Raheny twice. The first I was parked on the road right outside it, the second I was parked on the right-hand side of the test center where you walk out. The second time was a worse route, and I did worse.
