I can't decide whether to get a diesel or petrol Mainly used for daily all around transport to/from work, also for a weekend road trip as i will be moving place.

Daily route Terenure to Dalkey (23km each way) Through M50.

    Budget 3k

Options in mind: Toyota Corolla verso, Toyota Avensis, Ford Mondeo, Ford Focus. If diesel I want a reliable engine, i read that tddi better than tdci?

At the moment I have a 1.2 petrol ford fiesta 2008 zetec in which I spend around 40euro per week.

Honda Civic 1.8 petrol - they pretty good on fuel for a 1.8 litre petrol and come with Honda reliability:

1.8 Civic is what you’re after.

    I’d have hatchback over saloon.

The equivalent hatchbacks seem to be price higher unless you drop back a year.

Are you spending €3k plus the Fiesta, or do you just have the use of that car at the moment ?

I will give the fiesta to my wife as her first car and will have to get a car of my own
