switching from virgin to a required line

    i live in ballinteer semi detached in an estate dublin and have virgin broadband over coaxial cableall ok paying €720 a year, but thinking of changing to another bb provider to save some money, i got the house done up 2yrs ago and the phone line that was there is now burried somewhere (gone). is there any provider that i can sign up to who will provide a new broadband line to my house if i switch, many thanks for replies

    You'll have to find the drop wire. Techs will come out, fail to locate it and leave.

    It can be done .. yes .. but if it's to come in underground, the ducting is your responsibility.

    Changes in planning after 2006 (I believe) now mean, that you as the house owner own the ducting from the road to your premise. So you need to pay contractors to have that sorted.

    Providers will only deal with the stuff on public land.
