    Hi,

I have got a minor scratch on the rear quarter panel of my Car (Hyundai i40 2015, Pics Attached). Looking for a decent place to fix in Dublin. I have got a quote for €450 from Smart Repair. Is this the normal price to fix a minor scratch? The company said the repair consists of respraying the panel and blending to match the color.

Appreciate if you could recommend any place who would do a clean job.

Any pictures of the damage? Body work is inherently expensive, and a cheap job will usually give bad results; often times worse than the scratch itself.

€450 seems pricey enough but from looking at photos they may be right about having to sand/fill/paint the arch and blend it in with the doors. I'm no expert but I couldn't see it being compounded down as the scratches have gone deep below the clear coat and into the paint.

Cannot help around recommendations in Dublin though, I'm sure others here can help with that.

I wouldn’t call that minor to be honest.
    Try Carcraft in Fairview.

I’ve used them a few times over the years and I’ve been happy with their work.

Agreed that damage doesnt look minor....

have you done anything to it yet?

Usually a few minutes with a rubbing compound will/can remove a lot of the transfer from whatever you hit and make it look a lot better.

but some of those are clearly down into metal...

Not minor if they have to replace that bit. €450 is not at all shocking for bodywork. Dublin Automotive in Kilbarrack generally give decent quotes.
