    Hi,

I bought a 3 series yday from an approved BMW dealer. 2015 with 50k kms so still has another year of the 5 year free service included. As I was just finished signing all relevant documents their business manager sat down and tried to sell me the following products. I didn't feel in anyway pressurised, I actually found it a bit cringe but I just nodded politely and feigned interest. To be fair they are just doing their job. Out of interest, are any of these of remote value?

(As a side, I would expect to only be doing 10-12k kms per year)

    BMW Shortfall.

This would guarantee to pay you the difference between your purchase Invoice price and an Insurance settlement, should your vehicle be involved in an accident or stolen and deemed a Write-Off. We find BMW shortfall to be of fantastic value to all of our customers as it provides 4 years cover from the day you drive away for a one off payment of €259 (Providing return to invoice within the 4 year period), giving you complete peach of mind. (Video link below)

    BMW Tyre Protection

This will provide you with repair / replacement cover for upto 5 tyres within a 3 year period, for any tyre damage whether it be a puncture, side wall damage, bulges or malicious damage assuming the tread depth is above 2mm at the time of incident. These can be claimed at any BMW Retailer or any tyre centre within Europe (Pay & reclaim if at non-BMW Retailer). The cost for 3 years cover is €479 and allows for replacement tyres upto €360 per tyre.

    BMW Protect-X

This is a Paint & Fabric protection we apply to most of our vehicles. What this does in essence is seal the metallic paintwork in a showroom condition, meaning no more waxing, just wash and it’s as good as when you collected it from the showroom. The interior of the vehicle is completely treated with the equivalent of a scotchguard, protecting all fabric & Leather from spills and stains, thus enhancing the value of your vehicle. This carries a Lifetime Guarantee & costs €349 (Video link below.)

I wouldn't bother to be honest. Chances of you ever using any of these in your ownership of the car would be very slim. I was offered the same when buying mine and politely declined.

Have purchased and used the Shortfall insurance from them, cost me 499 i think at the time - the shorfall insurance paid out an additional 10K as the car was written off 7 months after purchase.
Not sure I'd bother on second hand car though.

The othet two additional seels are a complete waste of time IMO.
