I have a used replacement , there is only a couple of screws holding original, cable harness then goes into the body of car through a rubber grommet/connector combination, harness continues on for 20cm to a white 5 way connector

Thought once removing grommet the rest of harness would follow but the harness seems secured, any ideas?

I could cut & solder wiring but hoping to avoid

    Thanks

Pull the body panel away from that side and you should see any cable clips that might be securing the subloom.

Had a quick look at doing that but couldn't see anything obvious, fixings etc in order to remove the interior panel in the boot, in that corner is the little cuby hole for the tyre inflator kit, will have another look over the next day or two, quite tempted to just leave the original harness in, cut the wires & join to new tail light wiring, it's colour coded so straight forward enough
