looking for thoughts on the Renault Megane Coupe 2012-2014, budget is 8-10k, the 3 door is fine for herself, Not much options here for the 1.2 Petrol, plenty of 1.5DCI , the GT spec is preferred. Looking in the uk, I might save maybe a grand or so after VRT but get the better spec,so I guess its still worth it for a sub 10k car.
Any thoughts on the car/ Engine appreciated

Not much good to you op as I can't tell you much about them except the coupe is a lovely looking car.

I had a Megane myself about 15 years ago and it was really high spec for the time and never had any bother with it. Again not much good in relation to your question though!

They are a good car but you will be hard pressed to find a petrol version here unless it a rare base model. They got a facelift in late 2013 so watch out for the subtle differences in the headlights and grill.

Petrol 1.2 gives a lot of niggly issues. 1.5dci is a good engine. I really like my wife's. GT line is good to.

They are a lovely car. Brother in law had one a while back. I got a spin in it and it was a comfortable car to travel in as well as good around corners. Have not heard any major issues but Renault have always been better at making diesel engine's than petrol ones.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.
