I want to do a small concrete job. Looks like it'll be about 0.5 to 0.75 cubic m.

Is the only choice between small 25kg bags of material and 1000 kg bags? The 1000kg bags are way cheaper but there would be too much left over. Are there building providers that do something in between?

Just had 1m3 of ready mix delivered by roadstone over the weekend for €220. Can you find anything else to do with the 0.25m3 ? or else ring them and ask them do they charge/have an issue with you not taking all of it. (1m3 is the minimum order for all of the readmix suppliers I phoned)

I might! I did email one concrete crowd but didn't get a response. I didn't think roadstone would deal with only 1 m3.

However, a mixer truck won't get onto my lane, and if it did the target area isn't accessible from the front anyway (its partially through a building). I suspect all this will add up to ready mix not being worth it, but I could be wrong

They all seem to do 1m3 as the minimum order, so you could pay for that and ask what happens if you dont take it all.

They will generally give you 30mins to offload so if you have access issues you might need more time. We had the truck pull up to bottom of driveway and had to run wheelbarrows from the front of the house down the side of the house and round the back. I think 1m3 equates to roughly 20 barrows, we had 3 barrows going and were offloaded in 20 mins.
