Have a cow I notice when walking she throws out her back leg at times every few steps, she is not sick or down with it. She doesnt do this all the time noticed with last few weeks. What would it be?

Could be a stone between her hooves or maybe an abcess in a hoof. Her foot might need to be pared. Have you lifted her foot and examined it?
If the problem isnt in her foot it may be a hip issue.

She is not taking weight off the hoof. It seems to be more the hip.

Had she a hard calving this year, maybe sore from that or arthritis, is she old?

8 year old angus. She had yes in January. Only seems to be the odd time like this lately.

Would a hard calving still be affecting her now? Or maybe getting up after lying down she could be like this.

Check the udder, there may be swelling or discomfort there that is causing her to move the leg out when walking

Hard to know, it's a possibility i suppose.
Is there a bull with her, maybe she got hurt when bulling.

There is no swelling in the udder and no bull with her. Its a strange one. Cow is thriving and grazing away as normal. She is in calf 2 months.
