Give way to the right, check if it’s clear to the left.

    <This..
Then drive around the roundabout... not straight through it.

Always look to your right first, then proceed in direction you want to go to, using indicators to show exit you're taking.

you should be looking in all directions to try and maintain a situational awareness.

.... then proceed in direction you want to go to....
Roundabouts are one way only - you must go clockwise.

There is no straight through at a roundabout. Don't forget to indicate when you leave it.

I'm noticing an increasing number of people are indicating right going in to roundabouts where they are going no further than the 12 o'clock exit. Who's teaching these people this? There was even an ad on the telly explaining how to use roundabouts .
Then they'll do different at the next roundabout.idiots.

There are people who indicate going around bends. I'd rather see that than no indicators at all :pac::pac::pac:

The problem is that we have inconsistent roundabouts with variations of numbers of entry and exit lanes and direction arrows.
I've seen left lane only arrows, left lane left and straight series, right lane straight only and right lane right only arrows. And of course the two lane entry, one exit, single entry, two lane exit combinations.

It's no wonder it gets confusing

it's not confusing, you just need to think ahead and read the road, and stay in the appropriate lane , especially avoiding cutting across from one lane to another and back again,

I genuinely only care about indicating off. Once someone is on the roundabout, they are on it. it doesn't matter how far they wish to go around it, until they are attempting to get off it.

I see this a lot, as I live near Dundrum town centre, which is roundabout city, drivers who intend going through the roundabout, i.e, taking the first exit, they nearly always indicate right, then rapidly switch to a left indicator. Infuriating, misleading, potentially dangerous. I even saw a Garda car doing this one day :(
