Sores on lab puppy’s gums

    Hi all,

I have a 6 month old lab puppy and whilst pulling stones out of her mouth this evening (regular occurance ) I noticed that she had these sores/blisters at the back of her mouth. Anyone know what this could be? Only difference is we changed her food from Royal Canin to Burns last Thursday but she seems to love it whereas it was a struggle to get her to eat the Royal Canin.
She has a bit of food stuck in her teeth but that’s just cause she literally took a bite as I rudely went to take a picture.

I haven’t started brushing her teeth yet but actually just bought a tooth brush and toothpaste for her on Saturday - until now she has just had dental sticks and chew toys that apparently remove plaque.. not too sure though!

I would bring your puppy to the vet to have that checked out OP

Personally I’d get her checked over by the vet x mouth sores can be nothing at all or pretty serious so to be sure see the vet x

On the Denta stix ... honestly they are utter rubbish .. try raw chicken feet / raw bones ( always while your home) great for keeping teeth clean

Thanks - yes will get in touch with the vet tomorrow.
The dental sticks were bought in the vets - Foran ones? Rather than some pedigree chum type thing but yes I get you prob not doing much for her

Definitely bring that photo to the vet as well, it'll be able to show it clearly if the puppy is extra wriggly.

It's one of those things, it could be from chewing something sharp, or it could be something else that needs vet treatment.

I get the the same ones every now and again as I rotate treats - compared to other makes they're not THAT full of crap. One of my dogs gets one every week at the vets after his laser therapy - they have it waiting for him and he either stands up at reception or goes in to get it lol :pac: We all like a treat every now again that may not be 100% healthy - I just treated myself with chocolate for example :pac:
