My kitchen tap has come lose. when i went to tighten the nut i can see the fixing plate is cracked.

Ive been to a few hardware stores but cant find the bit, its also known as a horseshoe fixing plate.

Any Idea where to get one at short notice?

Update: Lenehans has one but it seems to require two nuts. the tap we have hags just one single bolt.

Best off fabricating something the right size to do the job. Start with a large thick washer and cut away the bits you don't need. Depending on how the pipes exit the tap you might just get away with a straight piece of steel.

Unfortunately i dont have the facilities to fabricate anything. Ill see if i can find somewhere, a mates garage or something.

Unless it's a straightforward common part I'm afraid the best place to get it is online. That advice is no use to you I know, but best of luck in your search. If I was in your position I'd Jimmy a temporary fix while waiting for the part e.g epoxy glue or weld it back together using filler pieces

You'll be driven demented going to hardware places asking for a specific part. Even if the place had it you can bet the assistant won't know what it's called and will just look at you as if you had 10 heads.

Buy a new tap, or second hand one from adverts.

Any good plumbers merchants will have them even Amazon have them https://www.amazon.co.uk/Basin-Washer-Monobloc-Fixing-Fitting/dp/B0778W45JH/ or https://www.amazon.co.uk/Emma-Mixer-Fixing-Kitchen-Bathroom/dp/B073QMBPXZ/

Edit> Couldn't see the pic first time around you want the second one which any plumbers merchants should have.

It's called a single fixing monobloc securing kit. Had to find one recently. Found it in International Trading but I'd be surprised if any plumbers merchant's didn't have it.
