Hello, my daughter is is finishing her last year at University this year. She has been kept going with a full Susi grant, and her last payment will be 17 May.

She will technically be finished on the 26th as that is her last exam, she has submitted all her assignments and her thesis. So she will not be returning (bar repeat exams hope not!)

At what stage will she be allowed to claim Job seekers? She will obviously start looking in earnest for work asap,. she has been looking for part time for the last two years (to fit in with her studies) and no joy.

...once you have finished college permanently you can claim a jobseeker's payment if you cannot find work...

There's no harm in heading to your local SW office once she's finished classes OP. The may tell her to come back or they may make her an appointment. She'll need a letter from her college stating her finish date and that she is not expected to return next year. Best of luck to your daughter, post graduation is a very exciting time.
