Madness. Eventual "winner" gifted the race. Rules are mad over there!
Was uncomfortable watch for the half hour post race. They can't be triumphant which sucks for winning connections

    Farcical

    A joke of a decision .
How long did it take for the head female steward to make up her mind ???
Yes maximum security moved off the rail but caused minimum interference .
    Best horse lost .
Fair enough to give the jockey a ban , but to cost the horse and connections a great win was way over the top .

Just saw the replay there. Nonsense decision.
If the rules have been applied correctly as seems to be the case, then they need changing quickly.

Obviously the European mindset around "best horse won" and it being bad form to lodge objections etc is very different to the nice guys finish last mentality they have over in the US.

IMO its analogous to the debate about Australians somehow having taken charge of the BHA and making what look like barmy decisions to British/ Irish race fans. Imagine putting those Churchill Downs in charge at Chester/ Galway/ Epsom?

A comment in the analysis of the Kentucky Derby in yesterdays's Racing Post caught my eye.
"Country House, from post 19, covered 51ft more than Maximum Security according to Trakus."

My preference is for as much information as possible about races over here: sectional times; horse weights; distance covered (see above).
I would like to see more horses demoted/disqualified over here instead on our practice of penalising the jockey, who still gets his winning percentage, and approval from his trainer and owner.
I do not want widespread adjustment of results but I think we are too lenient.
Does Trakus show the track taken by every horse? If it does it would be interesting to see how multiple entries by a trainer/owner behave in a race i.e. are they holding in opposition.
