Anyone have any of these keen drinkers fitted in sheds? Have a shed divided in pens that we feed both ends. Fed up going into the pens to clean dung out of the drinkers. Any ideas of a price?

I have yet to see a drinker that cattle cannot get dung into. Even if they cannot they often bring either ration or dirt on there mouths to dirty drinkers. If you have an issue consider the flip over drinkers or some other easy clean drinker. A few possible issues with the one above. How hard is it to clean if it gets dirty. Can larger cattle with bigger heads access it. is there any fear that an animals head ill get stuck in it. The amount of water available seems to be quite limited. But the biggest issue would seems to be that there is no way to clean/empty it easily

    We have these ones.

Even with a bar to protect them, the cattle can hold the lid open and slurp out the water, or scratch off them. When the cattle had broken off the flip over lids and front lid holder, we placed old pier caps on the slats, (square & higher at the centre), one at either side of the drinkers. The slope prevents the animal from getting its back side near the bowl.

We have opened holes in the back walls of another shed and have the drinkers outside. Works well, very seldom have dung in them and more importantly you don’t have to enter the pens to check them.
There are surely bungs underneath them drinkers to clean them out? Yeah getting heads stuck would be a concern.

Best we could do was fit drinkers on girders where pens are divided, out in the feed passage side.
Rarely need to clean them , just careful when feeding.

Have three of them in a shed for the last two years. Never had to clean one yet, brilliant job. Even the bull can drink out of it which surprised me. Only complaint would be the connection is a bit awkward, need a 90 degree I think, was a balls at the time.

I got a total price for all the pens and barriers, nothing was itemised. Those lads are excellent but in the dark ages when it comes to using IT.
