Scorch / burns marks around brake disc?

Took the car to the track recently, didn't have any major over heating issues gave the car a break and cool downs etc but the brakes did get hot obviously.

They had these marks around them shown in the photos like they were burnt.

Just had the wheels off today and some of the burn bits kinda peeled / peeling off.

No issues with the braking that I've noticed still normal and even on the track it was perfect.

Nothing symptomatic that made me concerned just wondering about the look of it if it's a problem

    Thanks

Un ventilated rear discs? You peasant :pac:

The burning look is just the paint coming off the hat of the disc

Yeah, it looks like those bells have been painted and the paint is after getting hot and it's making its escape.

There is a similar issue with the disc bells on the Mk7 Golf, where they are particularly visable like those and when they build up surface corrosion they are very unsightly so a lot of owners and dealers will clean them down and paint them to keep them presentable.

Unventilated or not they do the job!

Ah yeah that makes sense, does definitely seem like so kind of laquer or coating is kind of peeling off.

As long as it's normal enough it's all good! Thanks!
