    Hi all,

Recently bought a bmw f30 2013 from the North.

Just serviced by garage so dont need look at that for a bit.

Just wondering with all the service history etc stored on the computers will i have to go to dealership for my future services? Or can any garage update the onboard computers.

    Thanks

BMW allow access to independents to store the service history onto the iDrive system and ultimately the BMW Connected Drive BUT, those garages have to pay an annual fee to BMW.

My local indy wouldn't pay it as he says he wouldn't service enough of them to pay for itself, but there's a company in Newcastle,
Co. Dublin that have the software to do it as they specialize in BMW's.

You can access your full history online through BMW now, so its good in one way.

Check bmwservice.ie and you can price a service through a dealer.

Edit - Just seen your reg is not up yet.
Go onto Donedeal and pick a car that matches yours. Then enter that reg.

Where can you access the service history online? I have a second hand 320d and I inquired about getting a full service history printout the last time i had it serviced, was told that wasn't possible for "GDPR" reasons (which now appear to be customer service "f#'k off I couldn't be bothered" go to)...

I'm able to see the service history on www.bmw-connecteddrive.ie
Login -> My Account -> Electronic service history

Even if you can't get it recorded on the iDrive, keep a receipt for the service. Just as good if not better.
