‘Sale’ question

Does anyone know what the legalities are around ‘sals’ and pricing?
Soundstore advertised a ‘flash sale’ today offering 10% off. Now I am in the market to kit out a kitchen so have been watching prices and only earlier today had priced up the items. The sale started at 6pm and the prices had increased. Is this even legal or can shops do as they please. I am not in a position to buy at present but because I am in the market I was aware of the prices and just find it a pain in the ar*e that these shops advertise as a sale and hike the prices just a few minutes before it starts. Very unfair.

If they were selling at the "full" price for a reasonable period in the previous 3 months, not necessarily directly before, then it seems they are covered.

If you want the best deal on the kit for a kitchen find a shop that has most of it in stock that's where you'll get the best savings, a lot of places won't have the stock and will be ordering from the same place so there's little variation in cost. Pick your brand and go from there.
