Strange Boiler Issue.

Hello. I have an old, out of order Potterton Gas Boiler in my kitchen
the connecting water pipes to which have begun to leak water. This is peculiar as it has not been in use for over six months and is completely disconnected from the gas supply. The amount of water leaking is small but steady and has not lessened since I first noticed the issue this morning. I do intend getting it replaced but not until early Autumn as funds are tight. Is there anything I could do before calling a plumber and can anybody speculate as to what might be causing this? I have no other plumbing related problems at present.

If you intend of getting it replaced at a later date, why not just isolate and drain the heating system until then.

How do I do that? Is it a DIY job?

Is there a shut off valve to cut off the water supply?

If your unsure, possibly better have a plumber out to do it, isolation depends on the type of heating system (sealed/open vented etc)
