Would you support a ruthless state security organisation that clears out current and future leadership of the gangs that are ruining lives left, right and centre?
Is it time we considered topping the scum in leadership.

Ok... should have put more meat on the bones...
Of course there will be issues... that’s why an intelligence led effort is required.
We’ve tried the usual methods - gangs have proved impervious to the normal justice system.

Time to put a stop to the gangs? 11 votes

Yes, with a 1 month ‘option to standdown’ for the scummers.

No, fine with things as they are, hardly affects me.

    Jokey alternative option.

A state organisation that removes 'undesirables'

Can't see any flaws with this plan op

Surely the intelligent thing to do is to give repeat and serious offenders a "forever home" with life in Mountjoy or Portlaoise or the Blaskets etc. Instead they're out within a year or two and back to their old tricks.

Guests are guests and should be treated as this and got rid of for serious crimes.

New prison and get more of the scum bags walking free into it.

A ruthless state security? We aren't in a movie here. State security cannot just execute men no matter how much you disagree. Seriously like.

They haven't really. It just takes time to take one down and then another one rises I it's place. Best thing to do is tackle the demand that sees them selling so much.

    Why not though?

For one thing, we have no death penalty and connot introduce one. For another, the constitution requires people face trial by law. And also, it's just a scummy thing to do.

All point acknowledged. Our only option it would seem is to accept such behavior in our society.

As mentioned in post 5, we don't need a ruthless security state. A proper functioning criminal justice system rather than the revolving door free legal aid gravy train we currently have would do the job just fine.

If only we had a few acres in North Co. Dublin, just off the M50 on which to build another prison. ;).
Its costing a fortune to secure the place.

Is intelligence based posting an option?

Something along the lines of an IQ test before allowing someone to start a thread?

    As to the OP...
If state security apparatus of hard-line regimes were/are so effective one would wonder how these regimes were ever undermined.
Who smuggled? Organised? Ran black markets? By undertaking those actions became part of and integral to many resistance movements?

Or is it only those organised criminals that bother you that matter?
