UK & Irish Dual Licence

    Hey all,

I'm currently looking into learning to drive a motorbike. I live in Dublin city centre with no car parking and as I've recently moved jobs with a 3 hour daily commute a motorbike looks like a really good option.

I currently have a Northern Ireland driving licence for a car and am wondering if I can just apply for an Irish motorbike licence independently of my UK car licence. I don't really want get the UK car licence converted to an Irish one.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

    Thanks

    Nigel

    3 hour.... Daily commute.

Can you give an idea of the route.

    Hi Listermint,

    It's Dublin 2 to Bray - 40 min train + a 50 min walk.

No reason why you can't have an Irish bike license and a UK car license.
