    Hi,

I'm trying to figure out the exact dimensions of a garden from the site plan in a planning application. See the attached picture. Each garden's area is clearly marked, eg 69.5m^2 for the three at the centre, there is also one measurement marked from house wall to house wall = 17312mm. What about the other markings though, is there any way to infer the exact length and width for the 69.5m^2 ? Sepcifically what do all the 'FFL +12.800' markings mean, sometimes I see FGL or just FL, do these have anything to do with length or are they something else ?

    Thanks,

    Usjes.

FFL - Finished Floor Level, probably above Malin Head

Yes, this is GPW, so all these 'XYL +<value>' figures are altitudes and of no help in determining the length and width of the garden.

    Thanks,

No point working yourself up on the back garden size based on planning drawings either.

The gardens will be determined by the set out lines on the terrace of houses.
They are most likely already set on site so you could just drive in and eye ball it.

Which house are you thinking of buying?
You could use the scale on the planning drawings too. Print them out and then work our the scale at which they printed using a figured dimension then use that ratio for the length and width of the garden.
