If you are in receipt of OFP and then apply for maintenance from your ex. How do you know if your OFP will be reduced and by how much.
Let's say you dont have rent or a mortgage.

1/2 the maintenance you get from the father of your child will be deducted from your OPFP

So if you get €252 from OPFP and 75pw maintenence you will now only get €214.50 OPFP?
so effefetively the maintenence is only worth 35pw to you?
Or is it still means tested like if your household income including maintenence comes to less than 450 or whatever the household means test income is, as you can still earn 150pw and not have your payments reduced?

Yes your maintenance is only worth €35. If the other parent of the child is contributing €75 then that’s saving the state €35
