Slapped cheek and creche

My little lad has had rash for 2 days. Was asked to take him out of crèche til he was checked by a doctor. Doc says slapped cheek. He has zero other symptoms and very well. I'll ring crèche this morning but do they usually make you stay out? Doc said he's no longer infectious once thrash appears but that's also apparently the case with chicken pox but they still get you to take kids out when the rash arrives.

Chicken pox is contagious for a few days after all the spots appear, that’s why crèches will make you take the kids out when they have it.
Just thought I’d mention it, I don’t know the answer to your query though, sorry!

They will probably make you keep him out. Also it's very dangerous for any staff members that are pregnant.

The HSE don’t recommend exclusion for slapped cheek. Chicken pox is contagious until the last spot scabs over.

They let him back in basis he was well. This is a very useful book. I've been asked to keep my kids out for conjunctivitis unless 24 hrs in antibiotics. This says no inclusion plus my GP always tells me that antibiotics are not needed only brolene. Crèche have a policy about antibiotics!! Think I'll be having a chat as both of mine have had conjunctivitis twice.
