Places in Wicklow to go with little kids for the day?

Any Wicklow recommendations for places kids under 5 would enjoy? I went to Avondale House and Forest last week (house is closed for OPW renovation until 2021, it seems), and then I went to Kilmacurragh Botanic Gardens afterwards. I went to Wicklow Gaol also, which was very interesting. Seaworld was also excellent, and they enjoyed Glenroe farm.

I'm going to take them to Mount Usher Gardens tomorrow so I'd appreciate any other suggestions for adventures/fun for their age in Wicklow. Grma/Tks.

Look at Russborough House in Blessington. They have some good outdoor activities for kids like the maze and the fairy walk.

I really wouldn't classify Mt Usher as child friendly

    Squirrel's Scramble at Kilruddery https://www.squirrelsscramble.ie/

If you can get a cancellation, as they're fully booked up at the moment, an Alpaca walk starting at the Glenview Hotel https://www.facebook.com/k2alpacas/ https://k2alpacas.com

Excellent. Caught your recommendation and drove over there after Mount Usher. It was excellent when we discovered the Fairy Trail. They absolutely loved that in the woodland walk. They couldn't believe the fairies had robbed so many soothers, and I was able to show them where our own resident fairy lived (they had fairy houses made of timber attached to the trees, which was brilliant).

    Keep the suggestions coming.

As suggested above, greenane farm and maze is a good option for the kids. And if you are prepared to go a little further south then wells house in Wexford is another kid friendly option. https://wellshouse.ie/activities/

This thread should be made a “stickie”.
Some very good suggestions here for parents and grandparents who want to entertain the kids.

Kilruddery House in Bray has a large sandpit in a walled garden. There is also an area with small wooden play houses. It’s a nice estate to wander around too, a nice wooded area, hens in fenced in areas around apple trees near the sandpit. There’s a company called me and the moon that do kids art sessions there though I’m not sure if it’s all week this time of the year. And if you go on a Saturday there’s a farmers market.

Powerscourt waterfall. Great playground, sand, coffee shop. River to paddle and walk in and along. Ample open space to picnic-own bbqs permitted.
