Looking to rent a car from early morning Thursday to Friday evening, will be driving from Dublin to Waterford and back, with a little bit of driving once I get there. What's the best place to hire from? Slightly odd addition, but preferably somewhere that doesn't advertise on its cars. Cheers

Check out Ryanair car hire, it gives excellent rates across a good number of companies.

Only the car clubs have branding on their cars but the rental agents don't overly brand their cars- bar the fuel type. Europcar have their logo large in the back window, and a small one on the driver side front. Hertz have a smaller version of their logo on the back window. I think SIXT do the same. Most of Enterprise fleet doesn't, with some exceptions to the rule (green E beside number plate).

As for who to go for, stick with the main players and you'll be safe. Just read the Rental Requirements so you know what you'll need to bring with you.

Debit card rentals are restrictive. Credit card easier. All take deposits some large and some depend on what excess you want on the vehicle.

If you go for a higher end car from most of the rental companies, they don't include any obvious markings on the outside.

You can still spot it being a rental. Even when the rental companies removed their branding from the cars, to stop smash and grab theft, you could still spot a rental because they stuck barcodes all over the car.

Is there a reason why you don't want branding OP? Because a person with knowledge will always spot a rental while the vast majority of people are clueless. If you want real stealth some manufacturers do long term test drives if you are willing to play the dealer along.
