    Hi,

My sister is looking to buy a 7 seater.

She doesn’t want an MPV Ford Galaxy type thing.

Something more like an X-Trail for example.

Her budget is €25-35k; she would probably add a layer of finance in if needs be.

    Any thoughts/recommendations would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

Check out the Renault Grand Scenic. Its a stunning looking car and it comes with 20'' alloy wheels. I actually think the Grand Scenic is better looking than the Scenic. I would say for that money she would easily get a mid range maybe even a top spec one. It is well worth checking out.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

I'm in the same market myself.

    Currently between Q7 / Discovery Sport/ X5 ..

with the Q7 and my budget im pushing it to get anything higher than a 2014 (same with the X5 , but these are harder to find in 7 seater)

With the disco will be looking up to 171 / 172 ..

Hard to know what way to go , with the Q7 its alot of cash to part with for a 2014 !!

The Xtrail and the galaxy are two completely different vehicles. The second row in xtrail will struggle to fit 3 car seats and the 2 seats in back(3rd row) are for kids.

I have galaxy and stacked it with 7 adults recently and everyone was comfortable.

If you are looking at xtrail then the like of kodiaq etc are more along those lines. The new Peugeot 5008 would be in that space but it has space in second row for 3 car seats.

It depends on age of kids but if bigger you are going to suffer if trying to use all 7 seats.

These are all high end cars, repair costs are high. Anything goes and you start at 1k

The xtrail is in a completely different bracket

She has two kids, 6 and 4. She wants to 7 seater for the odd playdate and to be able to transport all four of them plus two grandparents at any one time.

The xtrail will work so but expect when bringing grand parents to stick the kids in boot and use it as a 2+2+2 which means the boot is gone, 2 adults in the back will leave little space for anyone else
The xtrail is brill and good value for money in that segment. With that budget you will get close to new with high spec....

Update with 35k she can buy brand new, the 7 seat is on offer for the normal price of the 5 seat and they refreshed last year so not a new model out probably TIL 2021

@Shefwedfan, If you had 6 year old, 18 month old and new baby due in June, what type of 7 seater would you suggest? Wife really doesnt want an MPV but budget is only about 25k (which includes trading in 2014 i40 and a 2008 Qashqai)

I guess you want all in the 2nd row of seats and then the 3rd row left free?

I would have a good look around Peugeot dealers for the new 5008 and see if you can pick one up

Otherwise bring all your seats with you and rock into dealers

I have a Multimac in one of my cars but some people don’t like them.

That'd be the plan alright, I do like the 5008 but not sure I'd get one in my budget

Your limited unless you find small car seats, most Crossover/SUV will have similar size back seats as your Qashqai

You could look at Smax which is nice to drive and big but that is MPV market place. I think you will end up going that route, something like a touran is nice as well....
