    Hi folks,

Currently on the lookout for a new estate car.
At the moment I'm looking at the Skoda Ocatvia Combi (15 Elegance or 16 Style if i can get within my budget). Seems to tick most of the boxes.

Is there anything else that i should be strongly considering with my requirements and budget?

Roads: Will be dominantly rural country roads
Mileage: Approx 600km – so around 30K Km per year
Size: Needs to fit 1 young baby + accessories and a the option of a Labrador in the boot space.
    Fuel type: Diesel
    Budget: Approx €15k
Other: Good 1hr+ commute each day so a comfortable ride would be a must. Also looking for some mod cons such as parking cameras if possible.

If you'd consider something other than an estate, we got a cmax to satisfy almost identical requirements, and we find it very good. Very smooth ride, big lie flat car seat, lab cross, big uppababy buggy. Cost 13k for 5 year old 2l turbo diesel automatic. It's basically a focus with an mpv chassis.

I've an 08 Octavia estate. Great workhorse with a family.
Even holds the odd door or 2 when needed

With best respects, I think if I spent €15k on an Octavia I'd forever be a bit disappointed that I didn't go for a Superb.

Case in point (a bit over budget..but really lovely)

Perhaps a more sensible option is this current model Superb that I would wager could be got in or close to budget..I can't imagine the L&K alloys on the other one would be much good in the long run on country roads

I've a current model Superb Estate, couldn't recommend it enough. If you can stretch to it it's worth it.

You'd fit all the baby gear, the labrador and your kitchen sink in the boot and still have space left.
