Hi how do I go about taxing a van ? Just purchased a opel combo for private use and carrying some of my own plastering goods.

If you are taxing it privately you can do it online the same as you would for a car. Commercial tax needs a goods only declaration signed by the Gardai then over to the tax office with that and the rest of the details. Either way will need a valid cvrt cert to be in force.

If its a 1.3cdti Combo you may as well tax it privately to save hassle. I seem to remember there's little difference between the price of a 1.3 and 333 commercial tax.
